About
Jessica Remmey is a self-taught photographer who looks for beauty in ordinary settings. Compared to the style of Henry Domke, her photography style evokes serenity and healing.
A Vermonter, Jessica was raised in Milton and now lives in the Champlain Islands. Photos have always played a large part in her life. During her childhood her parents often carried a camera to document travels and daily life. Jessica continues this on her own excursions. Many of her most memorable photos are captured by chance, just having the camera along and coming upon the perfect scene.
Jessica’s primary subject began with Vermont landscapes. This expanded to children’s portraits through her work as a preschool teacher. As a portrait photographer, she seeks to capture personalities and allow them to shine through as works of art. Jessica also photographs weddings, in a photojournalistic style capturing special moments and unique details, to tell a complete story from several perspectives.
Jessica’s work is sold at Shelburne Farms and the Bee Skep. Her photos have been on display at Northwest Medical Center, Milton Public Library, Apollo Diner, Uncommon Grounds, Vermont Butcher Block and Board Company, Mirabelles, The Daily Planet, and the U.S. Attorneys Office. She is also a featured cover artist for the Islander newspaper.
